Are there expenses that my child support won't cover?

If you are the parent of a child, and you have separated from the other parent, the law gives you the right to seek financial support for that child. In Kentucky, there are legal expectations that you and the other parent must meet for your child's sake; child support is one way to fulfill that obligation. However, the definition of what support is supposed to cover may be a little hazy. To make this a little easier to understand, here are expenses that are not generally covered by child support.

Older Kentucky residents may be interested in alimony information

Many individuals face considerable changes after going through divorce. The effects can range from the emotional to the financial, and anyone, including Kentucky residents, may wonder how they will move forward as a single individual. Because older women can be particularly affected by the effects of divorce, they may wish to determine what their future finances could look like and how they would like to approach potential alimony.

Inheritances may affect property division in Kentucky

When contemplating divorce, individuals may have many concerns they wish to address before filing. Some individuals may be particularly interested in how they will be affected by property division. Because Kentucky is an equitable distribution state, assets will go through division in a fair -- but not necessarily equal -- manner.

Legal options may help Kentucky residents with child custody

Divorce is known to have serious impacts on those involved, and even those close to a divorcing couple may feel the repercussions. Children are particularly susceptible to being immensely impacted by divorce, and though parents may want to do the best they can when it comes to child custody, it is not uncommon for problems and disagreements to occur. Although the first course of action to deal with these issues may be to talk it out, sometimes just talking is not enough.

Alimony may have various impacts for Kentucky residents

Going through divorce can have many financial repercussions. Child support and alimony are among the most prominent areas in which individuals may face negotiations when it comes to creating agreements. There may be many reasons behind an individual's desire for a certain outcome, but it is important to remember how support payments may affect the parties involved.
