Jesse Williams does not want to pay alimony as part of divorce

During marriages, Kentucky residents and other individuals get used to living life a certain way. They likely have routines that involve their family members and know how to handle their finances in order to maintain their lifestyles. However, when individuals get divorced, that security may seem less certain, and parties may find themselves wondering whether they could potentially be entitled to alimony

Spousal support could possibly be an issue for actor Jesse Williams and wife Aryn Drake-Lee, who recently decided to divorce. The two individuals dated for five years before getting married in 2012. During their marriage, they moved across the country and also had two children together, a son and a daughter. It was noted in the report that the actor is requesting joint custody.

It was also reported that Williams does not want to pay alimony. Details on this aspect of the situation were not available, but the couple apparently did not have a prenuptial agreement in place that could potentially have addressed this issue. If Drake-Lee feels that she could be entitled to spousal support, conflict could possibly come about.

In cases where one spouse earns a significantly greater amount of income than the other, alimony could help the lower-earning individual after divorce. If one party does not wish to provide such support, a court decision may be necessary to determine whether it is warranted. Kentucky residents who have concerns over whether spousal support will be paid may wish to discuss the issue with experienced attorneys who could provide useful information on this important aspect of divorce.
